I am a Yoga Therapist, Dance teacher and Reiki practitioner with a wealth of experience.

About Me: I am Heather Garside, a passionate yoga therapist, dance teacher, and Reiki practitioner dedicated to making yoga accessible to everyone. My journey into the world of yoga began not only out of a love for movement but also as a personal response to the challenges I faced with injuries from dance, managing ADHD and the impact of chronic illness. I lived in Asia for 12 years which allowed me to fully explore a variety of beneficial yoga and therapeutic practices, all of which I use to benefit my clients.

Having experienced the transformative power of yoga first-hand, I understand the importance of adapting practices to be accessible for everyone. My philosophy centres around the idea that we don’t use the body to get into the pose; rather, we use the pose to get into the body. This approach allows me to tailor my classes to meet the individual needs of each participant, helping them discover a genuine mind-body connection.

My Journey: For 12 years, I battled stage 3 endometriosis, a chronic illness that brought severe pain and fatigue into my life. This experience often left me feeling less confident, and at times, deeply depressed. However, yoga became my sanctuary—a tool that helped me to stay calm, reconnect with myself, and navigate through the difficulties I faced. It is this journey of healing and self-discovery that fuels my passion for teaching.

My Approach: At Mindful Motion, I approach everything I do from a place of empathy, flexibility, and a deep understanding of how to empower others. My classes are designed to foster a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their true abilities, regardless of their background or experience level.

I aim to provide holistic support that encourages healing, rehabilitation, and personal growth. My goal is to help you discover your unique strengths and cultivate a lasting connection between your mind and body.
